Snow, snowmen, snowflakes, sleds, shovels, coats, hats, mittens, and hot chocolate are just a few things associated with winter. Children may also associate Christmas and/or animals that live in cold climates (penguins, polar bears) with this theme. You may want to focus on winter weather during this theme and save the Christmas/Cold climate animals for another week. If you live in an area that does not get much (or any) snow, you might skip this theme because it may not be relative to the children in your care.
